The new Samsung Omnia 2 is unique in terms of the vivid AMOLED display that is 3.7″ wide at WVGA resolution. This mobile phone gives the best of the experience during the Internet Browsing with its large touch-sensitive display and the qwerty keypad.

The large number of software applications and that too at a reasonable price. It is having Touch Wiz 2.0 UI. The “smart unlock” feature lets you to directly access various applications from the locked screen.

The 5 MP Camera and other Applications like 3D Games, Bluetooth, Video Editing, etc. makes it one of the best in the today’s market.

The Windows Mobile6.5 OS does not go that much smarter as it has to be for this amazing phone.

Samsung Omnia II Is Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Official Phone

Just recently Google scored a big win over Microsoft when the government of Los Angeles decided to overhaul its existing administration software base and bring everything to the cloud with Google Apps. In perhaps a sign that Microsoft is still a force to be reckoned with, the Samsung Omnia II—running on Windows Mobile 6.5—has been chosen as the official phone for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

The other big winners in this move are of course the people of Canada. Bell, the official carrier of the Winter Olympics, will be offering fast, reliable mobile connections to anyone traveling to Canada for the Games (as long as, of course, they can afford the roaming fees). Canadians will enjoy Bell’s offerings more easily, and it’s likely many more GSM hot phones will be available very soon.

The Omnia II will come bundled with content relevant to the Winter Olympics, so this is definitely the phone to have during the Games. There’s much to enjoy after the Games, though, what with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a very large (3.7 inches) touchscreen display, DVD quality video recording and playback, a 5-MP camera, and memory that’s expandable to up to 48 GB.

The games aren’t until February next year, but people can get the Omnia II by Christmas if they’re lucky.
